overall, my research, teaching, and creative work is situated within historical, social, and interdisciplinary frameworks.
as an educator, I see this multidisciplinary approach to art making as an important part of staying in touch with the evolving concerns of contemporary artists; as an artist, I see it as an appropriate response to the concerns of my own art practice, which primarily addresses the anxieties of living in a hyper-accelerated and deceptive information economy.
using material forms to channel both lived experience and research, I experiment with methods for resisting and coping with information overload, the limits of institutional transparency, and the co-option and automation of language by corporations and emerging technologies.
