following research on how the physical infrastructure of the internet is manifested in real space, dark fiber documents the hidden yet blatant presence of fiber-optic networks and surveillance technology. the images in dark fiber were taken after completing and retracing a walking tour of the internet in downtown chicago that was mapped and led by ingrid burrington, author of Networks of New York: An Illustrated Field Guide to Urban Internet Infrastructure.
